Don’t know about movies but you can add the book “The Diamond Age” to your list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Diamond_Age), if you haven’t already. I’m sure there’s plenty more books out there that make use of nanotechnology in their plots, it does seem to make for compelling storytelling!

Your suspicions are accurate! This is why CERN LHC was built in Geneva, Switzerland: To avoid jurisdictional litigation, and control. What is the Department of Energy really trying to discover? Are the particle physicists even aware of this shadow guidance? Some are, but unable to talk to the public, at this time, but maybe later. You’ll see!
